In a world quickly becoming emerged in urban culture it would appear the urban clothing has continued its evoloution into maturity or as Hip Hop Mogul Jay-Z has said maybe it’s just “moved onto the next one.”
Over the past few years urban fashion has seen an adjustment in what is consider to be “in” right now. The Cardigan has arrived on the urban scene and with major players supporting the preppy movement it would appear that they are going to be around for a while.
There are many that would say that hip hop has toned down it’s in your face fashion and accessories because of the recession, however you shouldn’t listen to these thoughts. These are ideas of people who don’t follow hip hop. Hip Hop has not experienced a recession, just a rebirth of identity.

The Cardigan has been worn recently by Jay-Z, Kanye West, Pharrell, Soulja Boy, David Beckham, Idris Elba, Swizz Beats, and fashion mogul and aficionado Sean Combs. This only cements the fact the Cardigan is for Bill Cosby or your grandfather anymore, but a new mainstay in urban fashion.
